Christmas Lush Favourites

Merry Christmas Darlings!

It's the first of those 3 magical days of the year, and early this afternoon I'm headed to my parents home for Christmas. It's always been a big deal in my family, much more so than birthdays and I'm so looking forward to it. I'm planning on roping a few members of my family in on the blog this year - if you want a peek into that then keep your eyes peeled!

---------------

Lush hauls are one of my guilty pleasures, I don't know why but it's something I'm always drawn to on here. So with that in mind I thought I'd share with you a few of my Lush Christmas favourites that I've purchased this holiday season.

I'm automatically drawn to spicy and woodsy scents, so something like Cinders is perfect for me, and is most definitely my favourite. However one thing I have to say is that Lush doesn't tend to do woodsy, spicy scents too well - have you smelt some of their perfumes? The supposedly 'woodsy' one smelt of stale tobacco - not so nice! With this in mind I have to deviate from my preferred scent family into something a little sweeter.

I can't make my mind up about Snow Fairy - I bought the smallest bottle just to try since everyone raves about it, but if I'm honest, it's not very me. I'm more drawn to seductive kinds of scents like Estee Lauder's Sensuous Noir, or YSL Opium - so this really is something I'm not used to! However, I haven't used it in the shower yet, so I'm open to conversion!

As for the rest, they're pretty much in the sweet/citrus category. I won't go into it because lets be honest,  describing scents is the most pointless thing in the world. We all smell things differently! All I can say is that none of them are floral - floral is just not for me. They all range in their price point, but each is under £5.

I think my best recommendation is that you should head to a Lush store during the sales if you get the opportunity; they start to sell off all of their Christmas stock and you can get some great bargains, particularly the gift sets.

Have a wonderful day everyone, I hope you have an amazing evening with your family tonight, and a magical day tomorrow!

Merry Christmas!

New on my arm, Ted Baker

Hi Darlings,

I've been meaning to get this up since the day I got back from my holiday, but just never got around to it!

I have to say, I'm completely in love with this bag. Sure, it's not 100% leather with a cashmere insert and it doesn't cost the price of a small car, but it's fun and it makes me smile. The details are so adorable, and I'm all over the bow.

I can't find the model of this bag anywhere online, the dimensions aren't anything similar. They all seem to be too tall and not wide enough, so I can't give you the exact one. However I have found out that this is apparently the Rose Gold colour scheme. Now I have to say, this to me is about as far from Rose Gold as you can get. It's most definitely a golden bronze perhaps, but I personally fail to see any pink in the actual bag.
I believe that this bag is between £35-£45 depending on where you shop - if you do a google search, you'll find plenty of bags that are identical but in a different shape.

And I was also so lucky to receive the makeup bag, this was a gift form my mum and I believe it is around the £20-£25 mark. I honestly think that it's just so beautiful! The wipe clean surface is perfect for getting rid of makeup smudges, and it's just big enough to carry everything I would need for a night away.

I've fallen head over heels for Ted Baker now, I'm loving some of the prints they do, and a few of their handbags are going to have to be put on my wish list. They are just too gorgeous!

Do you have one of the Ted Baker bow bags? What do you think?

Snapshots of paradise

Good afternoon darlings,

It would be a crime to let these babies go by when the weather is so dismal outside... I think we all need a bit of warm weather eye-candy don't we!

I'm afraid that I didn't have the DSLR with me, as it technically belongs to Alex, and I feel terrible taking it away from her if I'm going to be away for a while (it's kind of her baby). The reason why there really aren't so many photos of me, (there's actually only one more in the whole bunch!) is that my mum isn't particularly good with cameras and doesn't understand the point in focussing on things...

Have a wonderful Christmas Eve, Eve!

A little update and giveaway winners

Hello my darlings,

I'm so sorry I've not been around so much since I came back from my holiday. A few days ago, I woke up and found that almost all of the remaining sight in my right eye has gone black. I now have a small amount at the top of my eye where I have light perception but that's it. I'm okay about it now, but for a few days I've just not felt like blogging, nor doing much else if the truth be told.
Alex has done plenty to cheer me up though, including Christmas shopping and a meal and drinks out last night, so I'm starting to feel much better about things now. I didn't have much sight in it anyway, so it's not so sudden, it just feels very final.

So! Now that I've explained myself a little, on to better and more interesting things! Who am I sending these Chocolate Oranges out to?!

 Lauren from Following the Foxes
Kayleigh from Kayleigh Jean
Becky from The Wonders of Wardrobes

There was a total of 20 valid entries, and they were of course selected with a random number generator.

I hope you've all had a wonderful lead up to Christmas so far!

Currently Wishing

Hello my darlings!

It's been a while hasn't it? I had a wonderful holiday, and I even managed to get a slight tan! (I don't tan very easily). Landing back in Manchester was certainly a shock to the system, it was -3 when we left the airport! I can't wait for Christmas now, it feels very surreal to think I was in 80 degree heat on a beach this time last week, and now I'm listening to Christmas songs while the weather is so horrible outside.
I hope you've all been keeping well while I've been away, and you're enjoying the Christmas Spirit!

-------------

Now that I'm back from the land of bright colours and summer clothes, I'm craving the dark and sophisticated shades of winter. I also can't wait to get something dark and vampy back on my nails; I absolutely love that look.

I have a sneaky new purchase to share with you tomorrow, so until then!

I'm giving away Terry's Chocolate Oranges with Popping Candy, as a Christmas Thankyou!

Hello Beautiful Darlings,

I can't believe it's the first day of Christmas! I hope you all opened your advent calendars this morning!

As a thankyou for all of your recent support, I'm going to be giving away a Terry's Chocolate Orange with Popping candy to 3 of my followers. I wish I could send you all something for Christmas, I really do <3

As always, the winner will be chosen at random. The giveaway will close on the 20th of December, so hopefully you'll have your treat by Christmas Eve!

The rules for the giveaway are as simple as usual:

1. Follow me through GFC

2. Follow me via Twitter or Instagram, it's up to you. The links to them are over to the right: @awonderful_life.
(In all honesty my Instagram is probably more interesting than my Twitter. I never know what to say!!)

3. Leave me a comment telling me whether you followed on Instagram or Twitter, and also your email address so I can contact you.

Merry Christmas everyone <3

Christmas Yankee Candle Giveaway Winner!

Thankyou so much to everyone who entered, I was blown away by how many of you did! I'll be looking through your recommendations for posts, and making sure I take on board your advice.
I chose the winner using a random number generator, and it threw up the number 18. There was one invalid entry which was discounted, therefore making the winner:

Sophie, from Punky Pugs.

I wish I could have given more of them away, in an ideal world I would. But then I wouldn't be able to eat for a month, so in the interest of my own standard of living, it'll have to be just the one this time.

Thankyou all again for entering, I appreciate it so much <3
